The Alexander Baykov Library at the Centre for Russian and East European Studies, University of Birmingham, specialises in modern politics, social and economic history, economics, commerce, politics, law, sociology, education, engineering production and scientific research and development. Most of the material is in Russian on the Soviet Union (specifically the RSFSR), but there are some books in Polish and Czech. There is very little material in English or other West European languages.
